Dedicated in the name of Prof. Quomrul Hoque, the renowned academician, educationist from Barak Valley whose untimely death created an indelible void in the education scenario of North East, Prof. Qoumrul Hoque School of Education at USTM was introduced in the year 2014. Prof. Qoumrul Hoque had laid down his life for the cause of education, his relentless struggle against all prejudiced notions that did not let people of the rural areas, specially the minority section, to be enlightened, educated, is noteworthy. He was a Lecturer of Nabin Chandra College, Badarpur and the Founder of a number of institutions including one B.Ed. College, Degree College and Junior College, who died in a conspiracy in September 1998. The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya had realized the importance of trained teachers and NE Region specifically needs a bunch of trained teachers who will guide our future generation. Prof. Qoumrul Hoque School of Education is an attempt to fulfill this vacuum. It had introduced two years B.ED course which is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, Eastern Regional Committee, Bhubaneswar), having an intake capacity of hundred students. Also, the school offers Ph.D. in Education under the adept guidance of expert educationists.
